How to Pray the Rosary

It only takes about 20 minutes to pray the Rosary. This powerful prayer allows you to meditate on Scripture and the key moments during Jesus’ life.

The Rosary has 59 beads, a crucifix, and a medal, with certain prayers for each of these different pieces. The prayers of the Rosary can be divided into three categories.

  1. Introductory Prayers: The Apostles Creed, the Our Father, three Hail Marys, the Glory Be.
  2. The Decades: For each Mystery say the Our Father, ten Hail Marys, the Glory Be, and the Fatima Prayer.
  3. Closing Prayers: The Hail Holy Queen

Catholics use the Rosary to pray to God through the intercession of Mary. With the prayers of the Rosary, we ask Mary to pray for us and to guide us by the example of her son, Jesus.

I began praying one Hail Mary because I was "too busy" to do anything else. Now, a few years later, I pray while doing something else and I am able to go through all the four mysteries. It really helped me to change. And now it is helping my husband who joins me every night to pray his rosary!”
